Baja Sur’s governor Narcisco Agundez Montaño visiting Pedregal de La Paz

by admin on July 1, 2009

Last Saturday, June 27, Pedregal de La Paz was privileged to received Baja Sur governor´s, Narciso Agundez Montaño as an honored guest to our community.

Gov. Agundez decided to include Pedregal as part of his weekend workout routine, Saturday @ 7 am. It´s worth to be mentioned that as part of a national campaign called “Activate: 15 minutos al día” (“Get active, work out 15 min a day”) you´re able to see the governor himself walking La Paz famous Malecon 5.5 km all along from Monday to Friday with his staff and inviting other paceños (La Paz residents) as well.

Pedregal staff and close friends and neighbors attended early morning call to the office to be part of this particular event. We were standing outside of the office, in front of the pool in a clear blue slightly breezy morning while we waited for Gov. Agundez. Around 8 am we were able to distinguish his crew and him as well walking down the panoramic highway that leads you to the Pedregal neighborhood.

No sooner the Governor walked his way in, he was joined by Pedregal Group Board Member Octavio Resendiz and Pedregal de La Paz Director Javier Manterola to tour around the first 4 phases of this beautiful ocean view community showing an outstanding physical condition while passing by the cobblestone streets. After it, we the Pedregal de La Paz staff personally received the governor and invited him and his team to enjoy our Sales office terrace with a light brunch and the magnificent ocean view.

After brunch Governor Agundez attended a brief private meeting hosted by Javier Manterola, Octavio Resendiz, Hector Andrade as Villas Aguamarina Pedregal architect, Gerardo Aguilar as project engineer and Sales Associates of Pedregal de La Paz Gabriela Alvarez and Anabelle Rossell. During the meeting Javier Manterola introduced to his listeners the Pedregal lifestyle, how we´ve been proud members of the Baja Sur community, where are we standing and where are we heading to. He also mentioned how Pedregal has been involved with La Paz community as well and how it has supported La Paz´s jobs creations (we pride ourselves to use all local resources).

Before he left, Gov. Agundez was kind enough to interact with Pedregal staff and take some pictures with us as well. I have to say he showed himself as a very polite man and easy to approach as well. Hopefully this will be one of his many visits here!

How nice! I guess this is a great option for those who are looking for an active lifestyle. Imagine waking up in the morning and go jogging to the beach (right across the street), or walk up Pedregal’s hills every morning… what a great way to start your morning!

I sincerely hope that the experiences of buyers at Paraiso Del Mar do not negatively effect your development.
Not only did they not deliver our home in the contracted period of time, they are unable (or unwilling) to return our deposit…..and refuse to commit to any timeframe. “Someday in the future” is the date they give. Guess we won’t be buying in La Paz anytime soon!!

Huh, I’m really sorry to hear that Debbie! I checked their website and it ‘appears’ that everything is going well for them, opening the golf course etc. I personally had the same problem of not getting back the deposit from Country del Mar in San Jose del Cabo. But I am seriously thinking of suing them, as this is not how the business should be done.
Regarding our business in La Paz so far we haven’t had this kind of problems. The developer – the Díaz Rivera family – is very well known in Mexico, we have more than 35 years of real estate experience and expertise, and we are also investing a lot back in the community. We are not just here to buy land, to sell and then forget about our homeowners. For example now we are building a home in Villas Aguamarina (http://blog.pedregal.com/million-dollar-ocean-view-just-got-sold/), a project in Pedregal de La Paz, and we have a very strickt contract with deadlines. And if we fail them, we will need to pay the percentage fees. And believe me we are working hard to make them.
In Baja it often seems that things cannot be done on time, and that this “IS” Mexico. As for example Par Vial project in Cabo San Lucas – they said streets will be finished in 3 months, but now it is already 1 year and 3 months, and not even half have been done. And the famous town of Cabo is now all in mud and dust, you cannot even walk the streets normally. Imagine how downtown turism is suffering… But I have seen cases when things can be done on time if managed properly and if there is somebody behind it who can deliver on it’s promises. For example Capella Hotel, which just opened on Monday, The Club house at El Rincon del Pedregal, we are opening that one on 31 July, then Revolution lounge+club downtown Cabo – people are working even overnight if they need to. There just has to be some comittment.
I really hope you will get your deposit back soon. If you need any help or to consult which would be the best legal way to solve it, let me know, I’ll try to help if possible.

I too have been very frustrated at their refusal to return my deposit. I cancelled May 2009 and am on told some time in the future to get my deposit back. I cancelled because they were totally unable to deliver my home. This is totally absurd. They have had my money going on 4 years!! Anyone else having this problem contact me and perhaps together we can get them to do the right thing and return money that they are keeping illegally.
