I too have been very frustrated at their refusal to return my deposit. I cancelled May 2009 and am on told some time in the future to get my deposit back. I cancelled because they were totally unable to deliver my home. This is totally absurd. They have had my money going on 4 years!! Anyone else having this problem contact me and perhaps together we can get them to do the right thing and return money that they are keeping illegally.

Huh, I'm really sorry to hear that Debbie! I checked their website and it 'appears' that everything is going well for them, opening the golf course etc. I personally had the same problem of not getting back the deposit from Country del Mar in San Jose del Cabo. But I am seriously thinking of suing them, as this is not how the business should be done.
Regarding our business in La Paz so far we haven't had this kind of problems. The developer - the Díaz Rivera family - is very well known in Mexico, we have more than 35 years of real estate experience and expertise, and we are also investing a lot back in the community. We are not just here to buy land, to sell and then forget about our homeowners. For example now we are building a home in Villas Aguamarina (http://blog.pedregal.com/million-dollar-ocean-view-just-got-sold/), a project in Pedregal de La Paz, and we have a very strickt contract with deadlines. And if we fail them, we will need to pay the percentage fees. And believe me we are working hard to make them.
In Baja it often seems that things cannot be done on time, and that this "IS" Mexico. As for example Par Vial project in Cabo San Lucas - they said streets will be finished in 3 months, but now it is already 1 year and 3 months, and not even half have been done. And the famous town of Cabo is now all in mud and dust, you cannot even walk the streets normally. Imagine how downtown turism is suffering... But I have seen cases when things can be done on time if managed properly and if there is somebody behind it who can deliver on it's promises. For example Capella Hotel, which just opened on Monday, The Club house at El Rincon del Pedregal, we are opening that one on 31 July, then Revolution lounge+club downtown Cabo - people are working even overnight if they need to. There just has to be some comittment.
I really hope you will get your deposit back soon. If you need any help or to consult which would be the best legal way to solve it, let me know, I’ll try to help if possible.

I sincerely hope that the experiences of buyers at Paraiso Del Mar do not negatively effect your development.
Not only did they not deliver our home in the contracted period of time, they are unable (or unwilling) to return our deposit.....and refuse to commit to any timeframe. "Someday in the future" is the date they give. Guess we won't be buying in La Paz anytime soon!!

How nice! I guess this is a great option for those who are looking for an active lifestyle. Imagine waking up in the morning and go jogging to the beach (right across the street), or walk up Pedregal’s hills every morning… what a great way to start your morning!
